Ninja Mega Kitchen System 1500w (BL770): The All-in-one System You Should Have!
Blenders are usually separate kitchen appliances from juicers and food processors so separate purchases are made. But the separate costs eventually add up to hundreds of dollars, and you now have three incompatible appliances. You can’t use, say, the juicer on the blender’s motor base because of their separate sizes.
Fortunately, there’s a kitchen system that combines all three appliances, namely, a blender, a juicer and a food processor. This is the Ninja Mega Kitchen System 1500w (BL770), an all-in-one-system that’s easy to use, easy on the eyes, and fairly easy on the wallet. The cost itself is less than what you will pay for three separate appliances, not to mention that you don’t have to worry about compatibility.
Of course, the purchase cost itself is higher than for, say, a blender alone. But when you consider the benefits that come with its proper and regular use, the cost is well worth every dollar.

Base Unit and Motor Power
The base unit itself is relatively stable, thanks to its wide base and to the special lever that allows it to be locked into the counter. Just be sure to place it well away from the edge of the counter to prevent it from falling down, a possibility when blending large batches.
The 1,500-watt motor is among the more powerful in the Ninja series. With such great power, the blades can easily and quickly cut through a wide range of soft and hard ingredients to produce the desired texture and consistency. But take note that the blade-to-motor couplings and the gear shaft are made of sturdy plastic, which can compromise the motor’s overall durability.
The 72-ounce pitcher, 8-cup food processor bowl and single-serve cups are all made of dishwashing friendly, BPA-free plastic that can withstand numerous uses. But we would also like to point out that many users say that the plastic itself isn’t as thick and sturdy as expected of a pricey blender, bowl and cups. These containers aren’t sturdy enough to withstand temperatures hotter than 82°C.
But in terms of overall quality, these containers should last for a few years with proper care.
There are actually four blades that can be interchanged! The 4-blade and 6-blade systems are suitable for making smoothies, juices and nut butters while the dough blades are great for making dough and batter. There’s also a single-serve blade for making single-serve drinks in the cups.
Aside from the versatile options, the blades are tough enough to actually do the job. These are also easily removable for interchanging and cleaning, while still effective for the tasks these were designed to do.
Control Panel and Speed
The digital control panel makes it easy to choose the desired function and speed at the touch of a button. There are six buttons to choose from, namely, Power, Single Serve, and Pulse as well as Dough, Crush and Blend speed buttons.
The blender has a power and pulse function that acts in a different manner. Press the power button to turn on the blender and then press it again to turn the blender off. Press the pulse button and continue doing so until you’re done with the function, such as when the ingredients have been chopped to the desired consistency.
The single serve function has only one speed, and it works like the power button. The food processor has different speeds depending on the blade attachment – three for the chopping blade and one for the dough attachment.
With the pitcher on top of the base, the blender stands at about 18 inches, so it can easily be seen when placed on the counter and in a kitchen cabinet. The base itself measures 9.5 by 8.2 inches, a fairly large base that can take up space on your countertop and cabinet. But if you’re looking for a blender with a large capacity, then the large footprint comes with the territory.
But it should be pointed out that there are more than a few attachments and blades that don’t have their own base. You have to allocate sufficient space for these attachments in your cabinet, as well as ensure that the extra-sharp blades are placed in a safe place.
The food processor bowl and single-serve cups cannot be stacked inside the main pitcher, thus, the extra space needed. This is also true for the extra blades and dough attachment that doesn’t come with a dedicated storage box.
Functionality & Versatility
With its tower blade design, the main pitcher can make fairly smooth and creamy smoothies from most soft fruits and vegetables. The trick here is to ensure the right ratio between the solid and liquid ingredients, and the right blending time.
But it isn’t as effective in blending certain hard and fibrous fruits and vegetables, such as cauliflower, broccoli and mangos, as well as fruits with skin and seeds like blueberries, strawberries and blackberries. Even after 3 minutes of blending at high speed, the resulting smoothie doesn’t feel as smooth as expected from the sharp blades and powerful motor.
If you’re making smoothie for yourself only, you’re better off using the single-serve cup with blade assembly. The resulting smoothie is smoother, with less seeds, skin and other undesirable residues.
The BL770 doesn’t have a juicing attachment so it cannot actually make juice as we know it. Instead, it’s useful in making so-called whole juice, a form of smoothie.
Both the single-serve cups and the large pitcher have blades that can quickly crush ice cubes in preparation for making frozen desserts. The food processor bowl can also be used for the same purpose but be sure to use the chopping blade. Be careful about using these containers for crushing ice cubes too many times, such as in commercial uses, since the plastic material can develop tiny cracks.
The single-serve cup is the best container for making purees from garlic, onion and herbs for sauces and dips. The stronger vortex and the sharper blade make easy work of the ingredients. But the large pitcher and food processor aren’t as effective for pureeing tasks.
Soup/ hot ingredients:
Only pre-cooked vegetables, which have been cooled for a while, should be placed in the large pitcher when making soup. The plastic material cannot handle high temperatures and the blade’s action cannot heat up the soup. In fact, the user’s manual clearly states that hot ingredients shouldn’t be placed inside the containers.
Use the food processor with its blade attachment for chopping soft and fairly hard ingredients.
The three containers with their blade attachments aren’t as effective as, say, Vitamix blenders in milling flour and grinding coffee, among others.
Fortunately, the food processor can knead dough and mix batter well for 30-60 seconds.
The BL770’s noise level matches its size. In short, it’s as noisy as it’s large, and it’s something that many users have an issue about. The noise level varies depending on the type and number of ingredients being blended – the harder the ingredients and the greater their quantity, the more noise produced.
But this is also true for many other blenders. The best thing to do in this case is to place a rubber mat, if you have it, underneath the base to decrease the noise level. Beyond that, there’s nothing much you can do but tolerate the noise for the few minutes it’s in operation.
Ease of Using and Cleaning
The BL770 can be tricky to operate because both its assembly and disassembly require several steps while its extra-sharp blades require careful handling. This is true for the large pitcher with its tower blade assembly wherein the ingredients must be pre-cute before being placed inside, and adding more ingredients means opening the lid.
Note: Every part should be placed and locked in place securely, from the pitcher to the base, the tower blade assembly to the pitcher, and the lid to the pitcher. Otherwise, the blender will not start and it’s necessary to disassemble everything again. It isn’t a plug-and-play type of blender, if you will.
The large pitcher with its tower blade assembly can be tricky to clean by hand due to the sharp blades. The food processor and single-serve cups are dishwasher-friendly, as is the large pitcher. We suggest washing the parts in the dishwasher while also being careful about the blades.
Warranty and Customer Support
The 1-year limited warranty isn’t as good as the 5-year and 7-year warranty offered by other blender brands. According to several customers, the Ninja customer service record is satisfactory while some customers assert that there’s room for improvement.
- Large capacity
- Multiple attachments
- Powerful motor
- Versatile uses
- Dishwasher-safe parts
- Suitable for family and single use
- BPA-free plastic materials
- Only 1-year limited warranty
- Quite complicated setup before every use for the large pitcher
The Ninja Mega Kitchen System (BL770) is an impressive kitchen appliance in many ways. There are three separate appliances in a single purchase, a convenience that many smoothie and juicing enthusiasts will appreciate. There are also several attachments and blades that expand its uses, from making smoothies and purees to creating dough and batter.
But there are also a few minor design flaws that can make or break your decision to purchase it. While it has several attachments, it cannot be used for making certain types of food, particularly hot soups. Its assembly and disassembly can be quite complicated, too.
With these things in mind, we still recommend the Ninja Mega Kitchen System (BL770) for its functionality and versatility.
